Thinking Outside of the Box

Author : Jackie Hunter
Did you ever get so tied up with habit that you were unable to see an object or circumstance that was clearly visible? You had trained your mind to work inside the box of your habit and anything that did not pertain to that habit was non-existent or invisible. You had become addicted to your habit. There are bad habits and good habits. We all have them and you could say that we are slaves to our habits. Something as simple as brushing our teeth is a habit just as smoking is a habit. However, it would be wise to be aware that we can benefit from thinking outside the box of habit. Just because we have done something a certain way does not mean that there is not a different way that may be better. While you were preoccupied and going about your daily business, circumstances may have changed.Actually thinking outside the box is easier said than done. It takes time to create a habit and it will take time to break it. If it has been beneficial to you, it will take time to modify it to make it better. We often resist change but it has been said that the only thing constant in life is change. So it would make sense that we not only deal with change but that we should embrace it. This will require looking at something familiar from a different perspective. You will have to make a conscious effort to think outside the box.Ask yourselfDo I really need to change? If I do things differently, how will it effect me?What choices do I have? What are the pros and cons of each possibility? We live today in an upside down world. Everyone has an opinion but we don't have to accept everything we hear or see. You cannot rely solely on what other people say or think. They may be approaching a matter from a completely different stand point. As people with a mind of our own, we must realize that we can change. With effort, we can move outside the box and discover new and creative ways to accomplish our goals in life.Jackie is married to a military retiree and she has traveled and lived all across America. Every move was an opportunity to prove herself in new circumstances. Every person she met, from the famous to the family next door, provided unique experiences for her to learn and grow. Today Jackie is still finding new and creative ways to accomplish her goals.http://findfreedom.themomteam.com
